Growing up in San Diego, California, Michaela discovered her love for soccer at the young age of four through the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO). As she progressed, she joined the San Diego Surf ECNL club before eventually transitioning to the DA program.
During her junior year of high school, she committed to play at the University of Miami, where she played for two years and earned the All-ACC academic team distinction twice. However, she decided to transfer to Clemson University to pursue her double major in Criminal Justice and Psychology while rekindling her love for the game.
With a passion for helping female athletes achieve their professional goals, she plans to attend law school in fall 2024 and eventually become a sports and entertainment lawyer. Even though she no longer competes, she wants to apply her 17 years of experience and knowledge of the game to coaching, where she can teach the next generation the value of making mistakes and help instill a love for soccer that will last for generations to come.
