Coach Sam

Sam is from St. Petersburg, Florida where he started playing soccer at the age of 5. Sam played a high level of club soccer all through high school, ending that off with two state championships, one in club and one in high school. Sam took a gap year between highschool and college to play semi-professional soccer in Sweden for Ängby IF. Once he returned to the US, Sam played semi-professional soccer for the St. Petersburg Aztecs (a UPSL team). The next step was to play in college, where he was offered a spot on the Queens University of Charlotte Men’s Soccer team for the 2021 season. Over the past summer, Sam got the opportunity to play for Wake FC (a USL League 2 team).

Sam has also coached in both the team and individual settings as well. During his time in Sweden, Sam worked as a goalkeeper coach for both individual and small group sessions. After his time in Sweden, Sam was an assistant for his highschool team at Shorecrest Preparatory School.

Sam loves coaching young, up and coming players. Giving the small tips on the technical and tactical side is something that Sam has done throughout his life as a player and a coach. He feels that should he not make his personal dream come true of playing professional soccer, then he wants to be the one to facilitate the next young stars in the world of professional soccer. Sam believes that as long as there is a passion for the game and the right working mentality, anyone can make it to the top.
