Coach Damon

Damon was born in Philadelphia, PA but was raised in Charlotte, NC. He began playing soccer when he was 6 years old, and fell in love with the ball being at his feet. He started out playing for WCWAA, from there Damon went on to play at Charlotte Soccer Club, Charlotte United Futbol Club and finished out his youth career at CSA. In his time playing youth soccer he was able to play and win 2 NC state cups, played at regionals 3 times, won premier league, and region 3. He then decided to pursue a collegiate career and play for the Developmental Academy his last two years of highschool.

Damon attended Myers Park High School and made an all-conference first team there under head coach Bucky. Afterwards, he attended the University of North Carolina at Greensboro on a soccer scholarship and was blessed to play with some great talent in his time there. His freshman year he logged 8 starts and 14 games played before picking up an injury that sidelined him for most of his sophomore season. Damon studied communications studies and was named to the Deans list all 4 years of college. After graduating from college, he knew he still had a love for the game but didn’t know how to give back. After a couple months away, Damon was offered the head coaching job at AG Middle School, where the team went 11-2 in his first season and won the conference championship. He now continues his young coaching career at CSA, back where he ended his youth career.

What Damon appreciates most in kids who he coaches isn’t always talent or physical gift. He loves kids who are coachable, who want to listen, and are determined to get better every time they step on the pitch. While most importantly, having fun!
